Papa Dan`s Pizza & Pasta in Palm Desert

Food is much the same as Olive Gardens. Seating is urban bistro style with tables in rows separated by 10" so you feel like you are seated with the strangers next to you. So, crowded and very noisy. Service was good but there are better places to eat IMO.

The pastrami hot crust is to die for! I've been ordering this for many many years and never disappoints!

A long time ago, Dan's was top notch. I felt uncomfortable and huge due to the close knit seating, the Calzone Pavarotti was not only under baked but honestly too bland. Service although friendly was asked by numerous patrons for items such as fresh ground pepper, olive oil and vinegar. Our immediate neighbors did enjoy their meatballs, Spaghetti and Fettuccine. It took a staggering 15 minutes to get salads in an maybe 20% occupied floor if at all on a Wednesday night. So maybe just a night off

I always take for to go. They have daily specials. Chicken Parmigiana is pretty good. Variety of sandwiches, salads. A while ago Papa Dan was all about Pizza, not anymore. Many people probably come with expectation of great pizzas, but they actually don't have much varieties / it's not CPK folks!/. Other dishes are much better.

The manicotti was tough, the meatballs were devine.

My favorite place to have pizza in the desert. Friendly good service. You can eat outside. I've been there for lunch twice last week. They deserve all five Stars. 😎

As far as Italian food goes in Palm Dessert, I was thoroughly impressed by Papa Dan's! Great food, prepared with high-quality ingredients at fair prices and thoughtfully packed to go. Everything arrived hot and fresh and damage-free. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I would happily recommend and return.

Always love visiting Papa Dan's when we are in Palm Desert. Great Pizzas and sandwiches. The pasta is great too.

Just got into town and ordered a meat lover's pizza and antipasta salad from Papa Dans. Outstanding! Fantastic food and the delivery was fast and the driver was very nice. Order from them, you wont regret it!

First time trying Papa Dan's and we had it delivered due to Covid. Pizza was decent but overpriced for the size. The salad was nothing like what was pictured on the site, and you should be ashamed of yourself for charging 6.50 for that tiny sliver of chocolate cake. We will keep looking.

A true Italian restaurant that is a great customer service and good.

I'm not one to really write reviews even when I have a bad experience. But the fact that we spent $80 and EVERY single item of food that we ordered was gross. The appetizer, salad, pizza, kids pasta and even the dessert. Will definitely never spend another dollar at this restaurant

Finally a great pizza loaded with quality ingredients at reasonable prices. Pay no attention to any bad reviews. I made pizzas for many years and this is the best in the valley.

some of the best Italian food in the desert and beyond. the service was fantastic and prompt. there was a young bus boy that gave the best service we EVER HAD, EVER. met the owner, Ira, what a kick.

The highlight if this restaurant for the 4 of us was our waiter. He was efficient, knowledgeable, friendly. Wish I knew his name, but tall, dark hair and I believe, Italian.Antipasto salad was huge, full of good stuff and tasty. For me, I would have chosen a different pizza, but went with the flow and it was just ok... for me. Others really enjoyed it. I would recommend this restaurant.

First visit to Papa Dan's had lunch. I had the all you can eat soup and salad and my partner had the club sandwich. Both were fresh and wonderful. Waitstaff attentive and helpful. Our 2nd visit we had a total of 5 in our party and the food was wonderful. The waiter was helpful and engaging and took good care of us. I had the lasagna and others had spaghetti with marinara sauce. One had the shrimp with pasta. A pizza was ordered to go. Everyone left happy stating how good it was and I have to admit the prices are just perfect. I will be returning for their early bird menu and to get a pizza. They look delectable!

It was easy to place an order. All it took was making a call to the establishment. They took my name and order then proceeded to give me a time for when the food would be ready. 20 minutes for a small pepperoni pizza and they did not go over that time. Their service is quick and the establishment is very clean. I heard about this place from a relative that absolutely loved it. They spoke wonders about how amazing the pizza was. Naturally I developed high expectations. Unfortunately, I didn't love it. There was too much sauce and not enough cheese or pepperoni for my taste, or flavor for that matter. On the plus side, it's not as greasy as some other places. Maybe it was an off day but I think it's worth giving another shot someday.

Service is moderate. If your here for a quick bite, go some where else. Food is delicious, all hand made so it takes more time. Fresh baked bread are given on request.

I'm used to NYC pizza, $14 - 18" thin crust, very chunkie tomato sauce tons of cheese.... this doesn't compare. But I did like it. ~ but it's very pricey ~$18 for a similar New York medium pie. So I think it's a lot better than Pizza Hut, Dominoes, and that sort of pizza.

First time trying Dans pizza, real good! Nice to find a pizza that's so loaded with flavor when just ordering pepperoni. Definitely going to order again on my next trip to Palm Desert.

Best pizza! Service is great too. Enjoyed a 3 topping personal pizza and drink for lunch. Pizza was hit, fresh and very good. Couldn't ask for better.

This is the place when You want Amazing Thin Crust Pizza! Seriously delicious and fresh. The Staff is always upbeat and thats a really nice feeling when You go out nowadays. Always a Great Choice with a Great Menu.

Stopped in for a slice to go... asked for hot... the skice was small, Luke warm, thick crust but not crusty, not very tasty. I am a pizza lover.... but this was lousy.... I only ate the topping and tossed the crust... not with it... but didn't waste too many calories.... extra small size slice... not good! I won't be back!..

No more anti pasta for us, unfortunately as we went vegetarian, but whoa great lobster ravioli, scampi pasta and mozzarella salad...😘

Quiet before the dinner crowd. Warm bread with garlic butter and oil and balsamic vinegar. Nice no sugar options for sauce. Love the angel hair and salad selections with avocado instead of cheese.

Fun place. Love the slice and a salad lunch. Don't expect your large chain restaurant at Papa Dan's. It is a cozy Mom and Pop place that makes you feel like a local.

We come to the desert for 2 weeks every March. We hadn't been to Papa Dan's for the last couple of years & we were glad we came back. It was as good as we remember. We had the medium Pizza with Sausage, Pepperoni, Black Olives & fresh Mpushrooms. We prefer the thin crust. Nice Italian atmosphere. Many choices besides pizza on the menu. They start you off with a nice loaf of warm french bread to dip in fresh grated garlic in a bowl that you add olive oil to. A nice touch while you wait. Outdoor seating available. We had Corey for our waiter & he couldn't have been more friendly or accomodating. All tables were full. A sign of good food!
